B1 - Dr Robert Blackman - Peace Is Alive
17/05/2021 Duração: 06minFor RE:WARM 006 we present a collection of music from one of San Francisco's best kept secrets, Dr Robert Blackman. "The Unimaginable DreamWorks" is a collection of five tracks from three musical masterpieces he put out between 1983-1985 on his own Riverwinds imprint. A practising chiropractor by day with his own holistic health centre in San Francisco, these songs became his love, passion and focus. Together with Michael Pluznick, a very accomplished percussionist they painstakingly put together an ensemble of musicians to bring the tracks to life. The melting pot for this body of work was Hyde Street Studios which still today is based in deepest San Francisco and has seen names such as Neil Young, Earth Wind & Fire and John Waters to name a few grace its studio space. Singers and musicians alike came together from all over the world to bring Robert’s vision to reality. This included an Australian didgeridoo player, an electric violin and piano player from Paraguay as well as singers and a choir from the s

B2 > Winston Neale - Sinnerman (Quiet Village Dub)
19/03/2021 Duração: 01minFor RE:WARM 005 we present a slice of obscure, relatively under the radar gospel from Winston Neale that we discovered back in 2019 via his Flying High, private press L.P from 1986. Winston Neale first learnt to sing gospel standards as a child via his mother the late Eloise Neale and went on to sing with the Bethel Gospel Church from the age of 6. Winston always had an ambition to release a gospel album and on relocating to Canada this became a reality. The Flying High L.P was the culmination of all he had learnt as a gospel singer, covering songs by Robert and Joyce Irvine & Rev. E.A. Hoffman / A.J Showalter amongst others on this record. The song we became most interested in was the "Sinnerman" track written by Winston and his wife, Susan, a haunting yet beautifully atmospheric slice of new gospel. Winston’s voice, taut hand drums, guitar, bass and flute all make this an essential piece of soulful gospel with a really distinct tropical feel. To complete the project, we assigned remix duties to one of our

Daisy Glow - Theme From Daisy Glow
31/07/2020 Duração: 08minFor RE:WARM 002 we head back to 1992 and over to San Francisco to bring you a timeless house record by Daisy Glow. Daisy Glow is the collaboration between San Francisco house producers Mouse & Kelix Williams who formed as a spin-off from their live act Tasti Box. Their Daisy Glow guise which previously came out on ZoëMagik Records gave them the chance to make music inspired by full moon raves on the beach and Sunday afternoon raves in Golden Gate Park. In essence a musical reflection of the vibe and sound of San Francisco in the early 90’s. From these sessions came the Give It All EP. Over the last couple of years the EP has made it’s way back into a number of DJ’s record bags and was previously supported by the likes of Sasha and John Digweed back in the 90’s. Sounding as relevant now as it did in 1992 the three tracks that comprise the EP sit easily in any house set to this day with their old school house sound. Each track having its own identity and all three being house music of the highest order. Pre-
