Are you hoping to visit Corsica? I've got a story for you! I (Kat) did a 9-day road trip around Corsica full of fun, relaxation, adventure, and more! Aside from the stunning beaches in Corsica, there are also ample hiking trails. It is known for the GR20, a multi-day trek known to be one of the most challenging in Europe. While I definitely didn't attempt that, I did hike a portion of it when my friend and I hiked the Aiguilles de Bavella Loop Trail. But things suddenly took a turn when AllTrails information was inaccurate and reviews that claimed it was only a 4.5-hour hike also weren't always fully correct. What was supposed to be a 6.9-mile (11.1 km) hike in 4.5 hours, it ended up being an 8.4-mile (13.5 km) hike that took around 7-7.5 hours. It's not the longest day hike I've ever done… but certainly one where we weren't prepared with ample water. What is it like to visit Italy right now, in 2025, and beyond? Well, Kat was just in Italy (right before the Conclave no less), and things are…pretty busy. It's the Jubilee year in Rome and the Vatican. It is a holy year that occurs every 25 years with many events, the chance to go through holy doors in 4 churches in Rome, and more. So, needless to say, it is busy in Rome, the Vatican, and honestly Italy in general. Because who goes to visit Rome and doesn't also say, "Well…while we're already in Italy..." Things are going to be busy throughout this year, but Italy is and will always be popular. Overtourism is still on the rise, and I think tourism will still be high in the years to come in Italy. Way back when, we were younger travelers looking to save money as much as possible and travel more. This meant sometimes booking inconvenient flights, flying home before work the next day, etc. Now in our mid-30s, we noticed that there are a lot of things we used to do in travel that we rarely do anymore. As we all grow and change, so too do our travel styles. For instance, I was a budget backpacker who stayed in hostels in my early 20s. I don't do that anymore. And yes, we'll spend $200+ extra for a flight with 1 layover versus 2. Perhaps its age/wisdom or perhaps we do have a bit more income than in our 20s. Either way, these are things we used to do in travel that we don't do nearly as much these days. What changes have you noticed you've made in travel over the years?
