  • Episode #12: Simeko Hartley Talks About Why She Decided To Walk Away From Her Very Successful NJ Based Natural Hair Care Salon Business

    29/07/2019 Duração: 24min

Taneice Lewis’s experience led to her owning and creating a salon where all women experience the feeling of safety and feel beautiful.  Listen to how she does just that in Episode #11. Simeko Hartley is a Harlem native who always wanted to own her own business. Although she was extremely successful in her New Jersey based natural hair care salon business, she chose to close her doors and try a new adventure. Being raised by her aunt, Simeko was trying to find her way in the world.  Through visualization, Simeko chose how she wanted her life to look.  She chose to mimic the life of her grandmother who owned businesses the entirety of Simeko’s life.  Watching her love her businesses is how Simeko’s grandmother laid the groundwork for her own entrepreneurship.  After she saw beautiful African American women loving their hair, she chose to go natural.  After moving to New Jersey, she did could not find any natural hair care salons, so she did what came natural to her:  created her own! At the height of her succe

  • Episode #11: Author Taneice Lewis Talks About Entrepreneurship And Why You Should Pray For Rain

    08/07/2019 Duração: 22min

Elizabeth Santiago combined her holistic health care as well as her skin care to impact the world.  Listen to how she healed people externally and internally in Episode #10.  Taneice Lewis is a native of Trenton, New Jersey.  She owns Shear Bliss Hair Lounge & Spa and is the author of the book, “Pray for Rain”. She is a newlywed as well as a brand-new mom who opted to give birth her way.  With her husband, midwife and doula, she delivered her healthy child at her home under her own conditions.  As a woman who can be defined as motivated and determined, she learned her strength from her grandmother who raised her.  Due to her being raised around an older community, people have told her she has an “old soul.”  Ever since she was 14, she wanted to own her own business.  She knew entrepreneurship was her life’s path. After a negative interaction with a salon that didn’t know how to properly dye her hair, she found inspiration for her salon that caters to women who suffer from hair loss. When she opened the s

  • Episode #10: Elizabeth Santiago Talks Passionately About Her Mission To Heal the World and Why Her Own Personal Transformation Was Necessary

    23/06/2019 Duração: 20min

Angela McKnight is walking proof that your voice matters and why voting is so important. If you didn’t get a chance to learn the impact she has on her community, go back and listen to Episode #9. Elizabeth Santiago launched Ignite Your Inner Glow (IYIG), a health coaching and mentorship program for people who suffer from problematic skin.  IYIG is a revolutionary and evolutionary program that came out of a need for people looking for a holistic and safe way to heal chronic skin ailments by treating the root cause-how you feed, fuel, and free your body from dangerous toxins. This tenacious woman is motivated by seeing people’s transformation and changing the world.  When sickness prevented Elizabeth from becoming a physician, she found a way to continue practicing medicine in a non-uniformed way:  soap making.  This foundation blessed her to create other skin care treatments to help your body from the outside in. Elizabeth’s unique company name, Celebritay, came to her by divine intervention.  She felt the ur

April Peters voice has the same soul ingenuity and tone of India Arie’s ballads.  So kindly, she allowed me to play her latest song “Fly” in Episode 8. Angela V. McKnight was elected as the first African American Assemblywoman for the 31st District in the State of New Jersey back in 2015.  She is now serving her second term.  With the collaboration of Tiffany “The Budgenista” Aliche, they will empower the children in New Jersey to be financial fit. The one word to describe Angela is PASSION! Even though she wears many hats (including a political one), her number one priority is her grandson.  While loving her corporate job as a director in a medical education company, her mother and grandmother passed away.  This prompted Angela to begin the for-profit company called Care About You.  After realizing the dire straights the elderly were in financially, Angela left her corporate job and started a non-profit called AngelaCares,Inc. which is an intergenerational program. Due to the success of those programs, the
