Sit Down & Shut Up

After a brief sports-related intro--Dan, Skyler, and myself talk about the recent film (and Oscar nominee), "Blade Runner 2049"

Corwin and I sat down over the weekend to go over a few topics that we came up with about our three favorite sports: Baseball, Football, and Hockey.  The talk was marred due to some technical difficulties (or ineptitude on my end), so be warned that the audio is not up to my usual standards. I decided that the content of the conversation was worth sharing despite the slightly below-par audio quality.  Hope you enjoy, but feel free to move past it if it doesn't sit well with you.  No offense would be taken!

Due to a last-minute cancellation, I ride solo today.  So I devoted the whole episode to my breakdown of the recent film and Best Picture nominee, "Phantom Thread."

I went to go see "Black Panther" in theaters recently, so I talk about that.  Then I talk a little bit about the NHL and Kirk Cousins going to the Jets.

Matt is on in back-to-back episodes as we talk about another dumb-but-fun movie, "The Hebrew Hammer," and a little music talk to shake up the constant stream of movie discussion that has been dominating the podcast recently.

Skyler, Matt, and a special guest appearance from Skyler's dog Bandit join in a conversation about the 1987 film "Miami Connection," an utterly horrible, yet fantastic film that makes almost no sense and is just dripping with coke residue.

A shorter episode as I start off just moving through the three sports I follow and talking briefly on some major story lines before moving into a shorter review/discussion on the recent Best Picture nominee "The Post"

With a small lull in the sports world, today's episode is all about the film "Darkest Hour" which came out recently and has earned 6 Oscar nominations.

Pete and I talk about the Quentin Tarantino film, "Jackie Brown," which is preempted by a talk about a few various sports topics.

Some various thoughts on sports to lead off the show, then a conversation with my good friend Skyler about music.

Just a big, long conversation over the phone with Pete about the four playoff games from this weekend and our scattered thoughts on what happened in them/what could happen come next week.

I go over my take on a few of the recent Golden Globe winners, and then play another part of my lengthy conversation with Corwin in which we talk about tanking in the NFL.

I catch you up a little bit on what I've been watching recently, and then have a talk with my friend, and NFL aficionado, Corwin about what went down in the newly finished NFL regular season.

I recap the recent Rangers/Blackhawks game, talk a bit about what the Hall of Fame means as the MLB has it's voting coming up, and then finish off with a brief discussion on the recent biopic, "I, Tonya."

I have a solo episode today, so I just briefly go over my thoughts on the recent NHL "Winter Classic," and then follow that up with a few random thoughts on film, based on a few movies that I've seen recently.

A short spiel on the difference between trash talking vs being a piece of trash when talking about sports with people that leads into a short conversation my friend Matt and I had about a French movie that I showed to him the other day called "Le Trou."
