William T will be asking A J questions about snakes as a beginner. These questions are important to all beginners that want to own snakes. Snakes have become very big in the pet trade. Snakes can be a cool pet if you are interested in owning snakes and are more inexpensive than fish to care for. William has had a fear of snakes since boyhood and now is just getting to the point of wanting to own one. So come join us.

The German blue ram is a beautifully colored and fairly peaceful dwarf cichlid. It is a popular aquarium fish. This fish is a perfect tank mate for discus. The scientific name of the German blue ram is Mikrogeophagusramirezi. It belongs to the subfamily Geophaginae in the cichlid family. The fish is named after Manuel Ramirez, one of the first collectors and importers of German blue rams for the aquarium trade. The German blue ram has been given many different common names in English, many of them alluding to the beautiful coloration of this species or to a specific strain. It is, for instance known as Blue Ram, Golden Ram, Butterfly cichlid and Dwarf butterfly cichlid. The names Ramirez's dwarf cichlid, Ramirezi, Ram cichlid and Ram are also used.

The Red Rainbowfish was scientifically described by Weber in 1908. Its scientific name is Glossolepis incisus. Around Lake Sentani in Western New Guinea, Red Rainbowfish is an appreciated food fish but are also a great aquarium addition provided you have a good size tank. This is a beautiful fish. There are 13 mistakes that most beginners make when entering the hobby of keeping pet fish. I did not say all begiiners do this however, most beginners do.
