Tactical Pause

To appease the crowds Valve announces that later this week Techies will drop along with many other goodies promised during TI. Music packs, All Random Deathmatch, and even the All-Hero challenge should keep us busy as we continue to hold out breath for 6.82.

This week we discuss some of the custom game modes that have been added via DOTA's workshop tools. Invoker Wars, Hero Line Wars, and custom map making are just some of the things we cover. In addition, we talk about what we think would be ideal team comps for global strats or wombo combos. Finally we talk about what heroes we've been playing and what othe games have been occupying our time. 

This week Tactical Pause dives into the giant update to Dota 2. Valve has released the Dota 2 Workshop Alpha Tools. The Dota 2 community can now create custom game modes and maps. We discuss the mods currently available and what we want to see or create in the future. We also ventured in to space with Elite:Dangerous hear our impressions of the latest Alpha build!

Roster changes and hopes for the future patch dominate the scene this week as we see strings and backround changes in Dota2.

This week on Tactical Pause Jay gives us the run down on his trip to comic con, aka aquire all the swag. We give a post mortem analysis of our Dota 2 Fantasy league and crown a new commisioner. Cody worships the F5 key in hopes of seeing his Oculus Rift come in sooner along with this weeks gaming news and more.

While Dota makes valve rakes in the cash from there free to play game Dota2, Cryteck falls under finacial trouble.

Team Fortress 2 releases a big update! New items and a fanastic 15min short along with it called Expiration Date.  Origin/EA kicks off 'time trials' with acces to Titanfall for 48 hours (starting at initial playtime). IGN decalres Rainbow Six: Siege their game of E3 2014 we talk talk about how this game and PayDay 2 are breathing fresh life into the genre.  We also talk about our Steam Summer sale pick ups and how Back to the Future should be a stage show.  #GreatScott

Bastion developers have a new IP launching May 20th, Hotline Miami 2 makes an announcement, and the fanmade HyperDBZ is coming to you soon. On top of all this news, the smash hit Goat Simulator has announced a new map and split screen multiplayer! Lots of talk about Wolrd of Warcraft including content analysis as well as notes about the new updates coming with Warlords of Draenor. Finally, we close our news with Cody telling us what he thinks of the new Star Citizen Dogfighting preview.(Hint: He's still in love)

Goat simulator hits steam like a wrecking ball this week followed with Microsoft's unveiling of the new Cortana voice assist and a unified platform over devices. Amazon is also ready to enter couch gaming at full force with their 'Fire' Set top box. Also a review of April fools jokes that hit the gaming world this week and Bert screws up the podcast as per usual. 

We welcome our new Facebook overlords this week with their purchase of Oculus VR for $2 Billion. Cody gets teased about not purchasing Bioshock: Infinite Burial at Sea. Jay talks about the new Diablo 3 expansion and of course this week in gaming news. Which has been filled with goats. Lots of goats...
