Eternal life is knowing the true God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Each child of grace is sealed with the witness of the Holy Spirit whereby he knows that Jesus is the Son of God.

Today we continue studying the experimental aspect of sanctification in the life of the believer as he lives on earth. Today's podcast involves additional comments on progressive sanctification in preparation for the Christian's growth in grace.

The doctrine of the Trinity is a testimony or witness to each regenerated child of grace that he has eternal life but also that Jesus is the Son of God. He who denies this declares that God is a liar.

The three Persons of the Trinity bear record to the truth that Jesus is the Son of God.

The Holy Scriptures abundantly teach that the Father, the Word, and the Spirit are all equally God and that these three are one. The Trinity is a divine mystery and is to be believed than explained. I believe Elder Cecil Sandifer wisely summed it as follows- -It seems to be an exercise in futility, since everyone who tries it is more confused after the attempted explanation. Our best course of action is to simply realize that it is true though it is beyond our ability to understand.-

For 1500 years the Christian community did not question the validity of I John 5-7 and for over 1800 years it was not left out of any translation. Afterwards, there was a cloud of witnesses among scholars and theologians that continued to support the truth that this passage is the inspired Word of God. The Scottish minister, Robert Traill, said of I John 5-7, -A place of scripture, that the devil's diligence hath not been small to weaken, and to beat out of the Bible, though in vain.-

The three witness on the earth -the water, the blood, and the Holy Spirit- testify to the coming of Christ. It is generally believed that the water and the blood identify to His baptism and His redemptive work. These three witnesses correspond to the three witnesses in heaven -the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost-.

The truth of the eternal Sonship of Christ is essential to the gospel. Not only did John the Baptist, the Father, the Holy Spirit, but also Jesus testified to His Sonship.

The Scriptures plainly teach that those born of God overcome the world and equally believe that Jesus is the Son of God. The believer does not overcome by his own strength or wisdom but it is because of the faith that is created in him in the new birth. True faith is living and not dead.

The regenerated child of grace loves the commandments of the Lord. The Old Testament as well as the New Testament make it abundantly clear that those who love the Lord equally loves the commandments of the Lord.

Because of the imputed righteousness of Christ and the love of God the saints are perfected -mature- so that they are not in torment. Furthermore, they know that they love God because they love His children.

In this world of uncertainty, trials, afflictions of various kinds, and a society of turmoil and unrest, our Lord encourages us many times not to fear.
