Tanked Up

We start off this week with some listener mail, and talk about our beer storage (and pourage) vessels of choice. Its our second week of e3 predictions, covering the various non-SoNinSoft presentations that will come up. Our hopes, dreams, and the usual drivel flows. Ben starts things off with 'Eukanot' by "Black Flag Brewing", and tops it off with the 'One More PSI' from Verdant Brewing. Its a "Mikkeller" week for Aadil, starting with 'Not Just Another Wit' Belgian wit ale, and the 'Stick in the Ear' West Coast Pale Ale. Lucy goes for the 'Headband' by "Verdant" and 'Fruit Loop' from "London Beer Factory".

Its that time again, E3 is fast approaching and its our first prediction episode. But first we start off with a discussion on the growing trend of craft beer availability in the supermarkets. Then we talk predictions on Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Ben and Lucy start with 'New World' IPA from "Northern Monk Brewing co.", while Aadil starts off with 'Wolf Warning' double brew lager from "Sofiero Bryggeri". Aadil then has the "Oskar Blue" 'Dale's Pale Ale', Lucy has the 'Ancho Dark Lager' from "Tempest Brewing Co". Ben finishes it off with '19', an American-stlye IPA from "Mikkeler".

It's our first Ben-less week. Aadil is joined by Ms. Beeresistable herself, Lucy Yearwood. Without Ben to reign us in, we talk about quite a bit starting with the newly launched XBox Game Pass, compare it to EA Access, and rant about the weird business models that exist around older games. Aadil waxes poetic about "European Truck Simulator 2" in VR and "Superhot VR". We touch a little on Hitman and the shutting down of I/O Interactive, and the "Link to the Past: Randomizer", as well as "Breath of the Wild", "Thumper" and so much more. Oh yeah, the topic is nostalgia gaming, (S)NES classic, and backwards compatibility. We both take on the 500mL 9.2% 'Human Cannonball' from "Magic Rock Brewery".

Ben and Aadil are in the same room! Joined via interwebs by the beeresistible Lucy. We talk "Little Nightmares", "Alien Isolation", "Adventure Capitalist", "Super Mario Run", and the ideal placement of a laptop in the bathroom. We also chat around a long-running MMO having an easter egg held hostage by the second player ever to hit lvl 999. Ben and Aadil share 'Sur Sorachi Ace' Pale Ale from "To Øl", before moving on to the "Verdant" 'Even Sharks Need Water' IPA. Lucy starts off with 'New World Odyssey' from "Fallen Brewery", followed up by the "Brouwerij de Molen" 'Vuur & Vlam'. Apologies for the high-pitch humming, new mic = new audio snags, should be sorted for next episode.

Ben and Aadil are joined by the lovely Lucy once again for the last of our Cloud Water DIPA specials. We talk the difference between seeking games/consoles at release versus seeking out those lucious rare craft specials, Tell Tales' Game of Thrones & Tales from the Borderlands and a long talk about topless Link's wild breathing on the switch. We all drank the Cloud Water DIPA v13.

We've got a very special episode for you this week! Ben and Aadil took a walk down the East Bristol Brewery Trail and sat down for quite some time at Good Chemistry with the wonderful Sam Curley. We have a few great beers and chat about games, beer, custom ringtones, couch co-op & early online gaming over dialup, and a whole lot else besides. Unfortunately the tech problems of previous weeks lost some quality chat, including some excellent talk about Batman. Beers we had: Natural Selection Wild Forest Redstart Rye Apologies to the folks at Good Chemistry as we lost also tried the wonderfully hot long peppers used in the Wild Forest brew, both conversations were lost to the audio-app gods. Hopefully we'll be able to go back and properly chat it out with more reliable tech.

Hullo folks, had a bit of a technological SNAFU while I was off in Canadia resulting in the loss of the latter half of this ep. But then, Ben went and lost his voice the following week, so we've elected to release this shorty, rather than deny the throngs Tanked Up goodness. Ben starts things off with the 'Merkel' IPA, a colloboration between "Verdant" and "Left-handed Giant", Aadil has the collaboration between "Powell" and "Four Winds" 'American Farmhouse IPA', and Lucy rounds things out with 'Session IPA (No 73)' from "Beerblioteque". We return to regularly scheduled goodness next week, with our visit to the Good Chemistry Brewery!

We are trans-atlantic once again! Ben and Lucy are joined by the prairie-bound Aadil from flattest Canadia. We talk "Mad Max", "The Witcher 3", "Snake Pass", "The Binding of Isaac" as well as the the horrors of the DS3 and fighting completionist tendencies. Ben started things off with the 'Steady Rolling Man' American pale Ale by "Deya" and the 'Apophenia' trippel from Bristol's Own "Lost & Grounded". Aadil started off with 'Blonde Canadian' pale ale from "Farmery" in Manitoba, followed by the 'Rye Ale' by "Black Bridge Brewery" in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Lucy had the 'Black Bird' black rye saison from the "Brussels Beer Project" and 'White Noise' white beer from New Zealand's "Yeastie Boys".

It's Ben, Aadil and Lucy this week. We played the paper-crafty puzzler “Kami 2”, “Battlefield 1” and the important pokemans in GO form. Aadil moves house and we also chat Netflix and TV shows and bad pacing, and by that I mean we rag on Ironfist. Ben and Aadil start off with 'Oolala’ Amber Ale from “New Bristol” brewery. Aadil finished off with the ‘West Indies Porter’ from Guinness, while Ben goes with the ‘Rye Pale ale’ also from Guinness. Lucy has The ‘Early Grey’ IPA from “Marble Brewery”, and the “Six Degrees North” and “Cloud Water” collaboration ‘Moutueka' Tripel.

We talk more Tom Clancy's(tm) Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Manual Samuel, Bye-bye BoxBoy, and Lucy's first impressions of Splatoon 2. Ben and Aadil start off with the "Verdant" 'I played trumpet on that tune' IPA, and follow it up with the 'Kokomo Weekend' IPA from our friends over at "Good Chemistry". Lucy's starts off with the aptly named 'Numero Uno' Lager from "Flying Dog", and "Crate" Brewery's 'Watermelon' wheat ale.

Its another Cloud Water Special this week, with your hosts Ben and Aadil trying out the DIPA v11 and v12! Joining us this week is Lucy Yearwood, also partaking in the v12 and the Beavertown Double Chine DIPA. We talk Lumo, the Metal Gear Solid series, and the loveliness that is Tearaway with all its papercrafty goodness. Shout out to the Vita.

Its a star-studded cast this week, Ben and Aadil are joined by Lucy and Out of Lives own Adam Thomas. Aadil talks briefly of his hour or so reredoing the first province of Tom Clancy's-tm Ghost Recon Wildlands. The rest have a large conversation about Horizon: Zero Dawn, followed by a topical conversation about the language used and representation of native cultures in the game. Lucy had a Black IPA from 'Shindigger' and "Stone" session IPA. Aadil started out with the 'Hop House 13' lager from "Guinness" then the 'Dead Pony Club' from Brewdog. Ben started off with the "Innis and Gunn" original oak aged beer and the 'Dead Pony Club'. Oh, and Adam had a few sips of the Innis and Gunn too.

Ben and Aadil indulge in some rambles about their latest accounting woes. Ben played a handful of games, including 'Undertale' and 'Kingdom'. We continue off our discussions of censorship, criticism and the apparent inability of people to tell the difference. Specifically youtubers and their need for solidarity and the end of the infamous "Digital Homicide" and Jimquisition debacle. We start with the 'Red Orange' Amber Ale by "Wiper & True", and follow it up the 'I Speak for the Trees' American Pale Ale by "Arbor".

Ben and Aadil are joined by the pre-order queen herself, Lucy Yearwood. We talk about her hands-on Nintendo Switch preview, before getting into the muck with the latest antics of one 'PewDiePie', knee-jerk reactions, and of course what the heck is censorship anyway. As well as a secret revelation of one Adam Thomas. We start off with the 'Wild Goose Chase' by "Wild Beer" and the 'Melon Welsh Rugby Legends' golden ale by "Crafty Devil". Round two has NZ's own "Yeastie Boys" session IPA, 'Big Mouth', Bristol Beer Factory's 'Independence' US Pale Ale, and their 'Bristol Hefe' German Wheat Style beer.

Its... wait for it... ben and aadil for shorty awesome twosome episode. Apologies Aadil's audio isn't the best this week. We talk 'Fire Emblem: Heroes', mention 'Lionheart: Tactics'. We started off with another "Lost & Grounded" 'No Rest for Dancers' a Hoppy Red Ale, and followed it up with the 'Ancho Cocoa Stout' from "One Mile End".

A Will Smith shorty this week with Ben and Aadil. We talk 'Fire Emblem: Heroes', an annoyance in '2048', and a little more of 'The Division'. And Aadil shows off how much he knows about the miracle of conception... and 'willies'. Beer-wise we welcome "Lost and Grounded" a new entry in the Bristol bottled beer market, sampling the 'Keller Pils' Hop Bitter Lager Beer. We then go Wild with the 'Evolver' IPA by the folks over at Wild Beer.

The Will Smith dream team is back! Ben and Aadil talk games over a couple of games. '2048', 'Gravity Rush' and 'Hyperdimension Neptunia'. -- Yay Japan! Oh and also, Aadil shows off his inability with the english language, before even having a drink or anything. We drank the Beavertown 'Lupoloid' IPA, and the Moor 'Imperial Entanglement' Red Ale.

Ben and Lucy discuss the games they've recently been playing. Lucy's been getting into her puzzles in 'She Remembered Caterpillars' and 'Toby: The Secret Mine' whilst Ben's been taking advantage of the recent psn sales with 'Ratchet & Clank' and 'Virginia'. Lucy drinks a Moor 'Raw' bitter beer and Northern Monk 'Bombay Dazzler' Witbier and Ben is on Brewdog's 'Ace of Equinox' session IPA and Punk IPA.  

Happy New Year! Ben and Aadil are joined by Lucy to talk about the 'Hidden Gems' of the past year in gaming. Beer-wise we all are drinking the Cloudwater Double IPA 'v9' and 'v10'. Excitement all 'round!

Join us for the last episode of 2016. This week Ben is joined by the Queen of Indies Lucy Yearwood replacing Aadil who is lost in Canada somewhere with no Internet or beer. They talk about finding the time to return to the games missed this year starting with Lucy playing, and really enjoying Doom. And whilst he's got her on Ben talks more Hitman, Lucy's favourite game this year. Ben starts off drinking a Buxton Brewery Anglo-Belgique IPA as Lucy has a To Øl sur galaxy. Their second beers are both from Electric Bear Brewing. Lucy has the Mochachocolata Ya Ya! a coffee caramel milk stout whilst Ben has the unusual RIPA red IPA.
