Zechariah receives a revelation concerning the coming promised Messiah Savior.

Zechariah 6-8 conveys the oracles of God to Zechariah to continue the work of rebuilding. He calls us out of religion and into a relationship with Him.

Zechariah is a small book in the Old Testament with a powerful message. God’s command and promise is to return to Him and He will return to us. In Zechariah chapters 1-6 we see eight visions that God gives Zechariah and how they are applicable to the messianic fulfillment of Christ our Lord and to our own life. Without some practical application, receiving a Word or a Vision from the Lord will have little impact. Zechariah understood this when he received eight visions from God  and after each vision, he asked the Lord for clarification. Specifically his request when he says “what does this mean?”

We all have a relationship or two that have soured or have become awkward. In Paul’s letter to Philemon, he addresses the issue of Onesimus and Philemon’s relationship and gives several keys to deal with awkward relationships. God’s desire is that we don’t allow what one person has done to us to affect how you interact with others. He wants us to live with a clear conscience.

The Devil uses circumstances and people to remind you of your inadequacy and sin. His instruments of choice are depression, oppression, consumption, and presumption. The beauty of the Gospel is that while the Devil knows your name but calls you by your sin, Christ forgives your sin as He calls you by name. Zaccheus experienced the transforming power of repentance and forgiveness.

The gospel compels us to examine our motives and propensity to base our decisions on how we can benefit from position and power. God calls us to humility. His desire is not that we think less of ourselves, or that we think more of ourselves. His desire is that we think rightly of ourselves. In Luke 14 Jesus addresses this conflict using three parables at the table of the Chief Pharisee.

Does your theology inform your lifestyle or does your lifestyle inform your theology? On the surface, religion can seem like the answer to many of the practical questions of faith that we have. In Luke 11 Jesus sits with a pharisee and exposes the flaw of religion without relationship.

Do you find yourself overwhelmed and overworked, wondering if there is a purpose to your busyness. In Luke 10 Jesus addresses the issue of busyness in the account of Martha and Mary. Learn how you can find rest as you release your anxieties to Him in your busy schedule.

Have you found yourself weary and exhausted, only to have something else thrown at you? How do you handle that? How do you find rest and recharge? Our rest is found in the provision that God has for you. In the miracle of the Feeding of the 5,000 we see how Christ provides what you need, when you need it, if you keep your focus on His provision.

When you encounter broken and hurting people, what is your first impression? Do you immediately make a judgement concerning how they got there? In today’s message we will examine the two responses to Christ as he minister’s to the broken and needy. Which one will you choose, repentance or judgement?

Jesus addresses the issue of doubt in the believers life. It is possible to have disbelief, awe, and wonder. It’s in the midst of disbelief that God reveals himself and strengthens our faith. When that happens it radically shifts our impact and focus.

The resurrection morning left Jesus disciples with many questions. Some of those questions are are relevant today as they were in the first century. Cleopas states “We had hoped,” a statement we find ourselves asking when going through family issues, financial hardships, failure of a business, loss of a loved one, or mental health concerns. Yet through that grief, Jesus reveals Himself in ways that open our eyes to His faithfulness.

Jesus desires intimacy so that he can reveal to you the significance of His sacrifice for you. In communion we remember His sacrifice and allows a moment for the discernment of the intentions of our heart.

The book of Luke records 10 times when Jesus sits at the table and eats with people. In this passage Jesus calls Levi (Matthew) to follow Him. He came to redeem those who were lost and forsaken.

God isn’t afraid of your discontent. He desires you to patiently see the intended end of your circumstance. Prayer provides the avenue for a change in perspective and focus on His will.

Inequity abounds in our society. However, in James day the inequity was amplified by the oppressionof the wealthy against those who worked for them. James addresses the issue by speaking directly to the culture of oppression, and condemning their lack of empathy. He reminds us of our duty to address inequity as modern day believers.

Are you walking in God’s Will, or blazing your own path in life? Is the path line with self worship, affection for everything but God, or even arrogant spiritual pride? It’s time to walk in God’s perfect will.

As we believers work out our faith, we must seek Godly Wisdom.
