Sinopse

New Philadelphia is an english speaking church located in Seoul, Korea. The vision of the church is to raise up an army of mighty warriors who will go in the anointing of the Holy Spirit to bind up the brokenhearted and to proclaim freedom for the captives (Isaiah 61:1). The church has a three-fold vision as an ER to pump life and healing into dry bones; a boot camp to train mighty warriors; and a base camp to send people to the ends of the earth. The lead pastor is Christian Lee. The senior pastor is Reverend Jin Soo Hwang. The church has also been known as JSEM (Jeil Sungdo Presbyterian Churchs English Ministry). This podcast only contains sermons and testimonies from 2009. Archives of sermons from 2007 and 2008 can be found through the iTunes Store under the title JSEM. http://www.newphiladelphiachurch.com

Fri, January 23, 2009 JSEM Friday Fire/Send Off Service Speaker: Christian Lee Passage: Matthew 10:7-16 Pastor Christian speaks to JSEM's two missions teams on the principle of "rolling with the punches" as they prepare to leave for their respective projects to India and the Philippines on the same weekend. Life is a journey full of unexpected turns and twists. We may have everything planned out or desire something to go a particular way but sometimes God will permit or make something happen that is wholly different. He may put us with people that we find hard to get along with or follow. These are the times when we need to let go and roll with the punches. God's ways are higher and His plans better than ours. So learn to adapt! Or else you may find yourself in patterns of taking control and not submitting to the Holy Spirit!

  • Perseverance of the Saints

    28/12/2008 Duração: 01h10min

Sun, December 28, 2008 JSEM Sunday Service Speaker: Christian Lee Passage: Romans 8:29-39 The Reformed view of eternal security is called the "perseverance of the saints". The P in TULIP. The idea here is, "Once in grace, always in grace." Another way, "If you have it, you never lose it; if you lose it, you never had it." Our confidence in the perseverance of the saints does not rest upon the saints' ability to persevere. The reason true Christians do not fall from grace is that God graciously keeps them from falling. We persevere b/c God preserves (Phil 1:6, John 10:27-29). If God preserves the salvation of men, how do we explain those who completely turn their backs on the church (backsliders)? How does a Ted Haggard or a Todd Bentley commit such gross and heinous sins? Don't these examples show that people can "fall from grace" and lose their salvation? Pastor Christian addresses these issues and more regarding this all important doctrine.
