David Hoffman came to Virginia Tech from the Hill School in Pennsylvania. After a stellar high school career that culminated with a couple of National Prep championships and a runner-up finish at the USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle National Championships, Hoffman headed to wrestle for then-coach Keith Mourlam at Virginia Tech. / / Hoffman then stuck around when Tom Brands took over the post for two years and finished his career as an All-American at 141 pounds.
