Joining us for our special birthday are Edith Bowman (Soundtracking with Edith Bowman) and Cariad Lloyd (Griefcast) and we’re reviewing Christopher Nolan’s 2010 masterpiece Inception. It’s best not to try and unpick Inception - top line is it is a story about dreams, grief, memory and folding streets soundtracked to Edith Piaf. At first watch it is simply visually stunning, from exploding European streets, Escher staircases and a mind bending anti-gravity fight scene. It is also blessed with one of the best ensemble casts of recent years, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Pete Postlethwaite (in one of his final performances), Michael Caine and Lukas Haas. If that doesn’t pique your interest then nothing will.
