This is a real special one for me, as it should be for any fan of Texas rap. Salih Williams and his brothers have been a musical force on the Texas scene for many years, starting out with their family band that toured the Texas circuit way back in the day, to his rise around the turn of the century as the man behind MOST of the hits of the big Houston rap wave. "Still Tippin'," "Barre Baby," "Purple Stuff," "Power Up," "Back Then," um, any of those ring a bell? Salih Williams and his Carnival Beats literally formed a lot of the sounds you know and love from Houston and beyond from the early to mid-2000's, when everyone was crunk up off that H-Town sound. Crazy thing is Salih is from Luling, Texas, where he stays till this day amongst his family and closest people to him. His latest project is called Dirty Water and it's some extremely real blues.
