Sovereign Self

The word "freedom" is used very loosely these days. We like to proclaim we have freedom but in multiple ways we do not. In order to have freedom it must apply to all, not just some of us. Our judgments against others and our endless rules curtail our freedom to be who we wish to be. Freedom can only be achieved when we embrace responsibility for who we are being and by causing no harm to others in the process. As soon as we demand who or what others can be or have, we are demonstrating we do not believe in freedom, as we are taking their freedom away. As an expression of love, freedom is first developed inside ourselves and involves giving it to others out of love.
