Renata Hill, a native of New Jersey, spent three years in prison in New York  literally for being the survivor of sexual harassment. Her story, along with Venice Brown, Terrain Dandridge, and Patreese Johnson is featured in the documentary, Out in the Night .  Renata shares experiences about her life that, according her,  she's never shared before. Her stories of family strife, abuse, systemic disregard for the lives of young Black girls, and utter demonization of the LGBTQ community are enraging and inspiring. She also graces Decarcerated with her sense of humor.  Renata is a treat!   Released in 2010, Renata is currently a case manager aide at St. Paul's Community and Development Corporation.where she works with formerly incarcerated reintegrating into the community.  Renata is also a college student on her way to pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work.    Oh, and Renata won the 2015 Beyond Measure Award co-presented with DapperQ and New York Fashion Week for her dedication to activism and social justice
