The Eagles go to Chi-town, the windy city, Chicago for the national stage of Monday Night Football, to take on Jay Cutler and the Bears. It is the first big audience for Carson Wentz for his NFL rookie season. Wentz handled the Offense again like a veteran player, and not like a rookie at all. He was very exciting to see, again, with the confidence to find receivers, scramble when needed, and take the shot down the field. Philadelphia won 29-14, on the road, on Monday Night. Impressive even though Chicago is not one of the superpowers in the NFL at this point. The Eagles offensive line protected Wentz, and there was decent blocking for the run game as well. A few in-the-hands drops by receivers (I’m looking at you, Agholor) were really frustrating to see, but overall the scheme on Offense was a very good one, and kept the Bears Defense on their heels, with Wentz passing to seven different players.
