It's not often that we run across someone who goes from being a U.S. Navy SEAL and who then switch branches to the U.S. Army and become a 160th SOAR pilot! Meet Michael Rutledge and listen to his amazing story of how he was able to live a life of no regret. CW4 Michael G. Rutledge is the current Commander, 2nd Aviation Detachment, USMA as well as an MX400 instructor and mentor for the West Point Football, Swimming, Parachute Team, and Aviation Club. He enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1990 from Davenport, IA as a Naval Aircrewman and Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. In 1993, Rutledge was selected for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training. After graduation, he was assigned to SEAL Team ONE and an assignment at the Naval Special Warfare Center at Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, CA as an Advanced Training Instructor. He completed three overseas deployments to include several contingency operations and was deployed during Sept 11th, 2001.
