In Ezekiel 6:1-3, God directed Ezekiel to pronounce an oracle of judgment against the “Mountains of Israel”, which are the centers of pagan worship where the Israelites practiced their idolatry. Throughout the Book of Ezekiel, the phrase “so that you will know that I am the Lord” is used 70 times. It is a purpose statement that expresses the reason for God’s action. God judges Israel not simply because He loves Israel and hates sin, but because He wants all the nations to know that He is God. - Andrew Pua
