One of the most critical needs in the body of Christ today, is to study scripture in context. It is a very common practice of many layman and leaders, to attempt to interpret and to teach doctrinal concepts by intentionally or unintentionally, lifting single scriptures out (as if with a pair of tweezers!) and building entire doctrines around them, without fully exploring the context in which the statement was made. It is CRITICAL to a proper understanding of the Bible and it’s teachings, that we read the TOTALITY of what the writer was communicating and not just take a snip-it here and a snip-it there.
