Being thrust into uncertainty and instability so young, it helped to shape his early view of the world. After he was adopted, he quickly realized the importance of family and a support group. He also realized that he was one of the lucky ones. That so many other children do not have that opportunity. And without that "opportunity", in this profit based capitalist system, means you are discarded and left to fend for yourself. And if you're unable to do so, means you will starve and die.
