On our first episode of this new calendar year, we share our favorite ways to get kids engaged into high quality discussions centered around your classroom content. Luke shares what is called "I Wondered, They Wondered." In this strategy you really set the students up for success in asking questions and then sharing questions with one another. Some of my favorites are the "Listen to seek to understand" and "Summarize the previous speakers argument before sharing your own." Those are just 2 of the essential rules to assure fair and safe discussion space that is not a debate but a discourse. Try them both. You will like them.
