Dave, The Caregiver's Caregiver

Precious Goodson is an Educator, Speaker, Scholar, Blogger, Writer, and Leader in the military community. She is a military caregiver to a combat-wounded veteran, and advocates for military families. Her husband served for 17 years in the military service and sustained mental and physical wounds during this last tour to Afghanistan. In 2010, she resigned from her job as an elementary school teacher to care for her husband. For the past nine and-a-half years, she has served as his primary caregiver and has advocated for his health care and well-being. She was selected in 2015-2016 to serve as a Caregiver Dole Fellow with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation to be a voice for military caregivers. In 2016 she founded the blog, “A Military Caregiver’s Journey: War Changes Lives,” to share her story of military caregiving with the world.
