A mother and daughter battle against Alzheimers in a country at war.  Madre is a theatrical memoir that follows Julia de Maria Auxiliadora, an aging woman in Colombia who is fighting to maintain a sense of self as she succumbs to Alzheimer’s. As Julia’s lifetime of memories unravels, her adopted daughter Angela returns from Toronto to care for her, and to make one last desperate attempt to resolve their conflicted relationship while Julia still recognizes her.
