Bob Hope welcomed Al Jolson to his broadcast on April 8, 1947. Bandleader Desi Arnaz, to the consternation of Bob Hope, waited for the applause to die down before starting the band with "California, Here I Come," which Al Jolson sang to a rousing reception.
