It’s often more comfortable to view Him as a distant, polished miracle worker than as a man who got tired, felt frustrated, and wept openly in a crowd. We often rush toward the power of the Resurrection, but this week, we are invited to pause and sit with the profound mystery of Jesus’ humanity. On Palm Sunday, the city of Jerusalem was in an uproar, welcoming a victorious king with palm branches and cloaks. Yet, in the middle of the cheers, Jesus was riding a donkey, challenging every expectation of what power should look like. We explore the ​“Core Tension” of Holy Week: a King who is celebrated but deeply misunderstood. Why did Jesus overturn the tables in the temple?
