Most make it a problem about "them" - if "they" were like "us" there would not be the problems we have. James says the problem with the world is us - not them. We desire other things before God. We want friendship with the world, adopting its pride and self-suffiency - which places us at odds with God. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia.
