This summer marks 50 years since President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 into law. The pursuit of civil rights for LGBT people continues today at a pace faster than any other civil rights movement in history. This month we talked with two campions for LGBT civil rights, two straight allies, who have come together from opposite sides of the political spectrum to focus on bringing marriage equality to every state in the United States. Attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson opposed each other in the now famous Bush Vs. Gore Supreme Court case, but teamed-up to defeat California’s Proposition 8 in the same court.
