My guest today on the first ever episode of Run Talk Beer is Nate Jenkins. Nate is a world-class former professional runner who has a remarkable running backstory. Nate worked his butt off to become an elite runner -- finishing in 7th place in the 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials (one spot ahead of Meb Keflezighi). Around the time Nate was becoming a top athlete he began to suffer from a coordination issue that would plague him going forward. Nate talks about the training he put in to become an elite runner and the work he's been doing to get back to top form. Nate and I enjoyed a nice run in the Weir Hill Reservation in North Andover, MA and talked over a delicious New England IPA from Oak and Iron Brewing Company (based in Andover, MA).
