"Icarus" The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Dec 7 2017, 15 films in the Documentary Feature category that will advance in the voting process for the 90th Academy Awards®. One hundred seventy films were originally submitted in the category. Of the 15 films, we are glad to say "Icarus" is one of them. JAKE SWANTKO IS AN AMERICAN DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMMAKER BASED IN NEW YORK CITY. HE GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON WITH A B.A. IN JOURNALISM AND COMMUNICATION. THIS IS HIS SECOND FILM AT SUNDANCE AS DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY.
