Peter encourages the wife in this passage to live a live that reflects a Godly relationship with her savior. Women whose husband may be lost can be won over by the simple attitude and submission we find in Christ. Submission doesn’t mean losing ones self, but understanding that God has an order for everyone to live by. He encourages the women to allow their beauty to be found through their inward relationship with Jesus rather than the outward appearance that is fading away.
