It is perfectly possible for a person to have all of the knowledge in the world, yet be unable to put it to any good use because he has no common sense whatsoever. Also, the inverse of this is possible; if someone has common sense but doesn't necessarily have knowledge, then he can probably make his way through life as long as he stays out of matters that require too much memorization and knowledge of facts.
