Coach Al Groh was named ACC Coach of the Year in both 2002 and 2007, as well as American Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2004. He is 56-44 in his eight seasons as the Cavaliers headman, including five bowl appearances. UVA is Coach Groh’s second stint in the ACC having led the Wake Forest Demon Deacons from 1981-1986 before spending 12 years in the NFL from 1989-2000, including one year as the HC of the New York Jets when he compiled a record of 9-7.
