Hebrews 11 is commonly called the “Hebrews Hall of Faith.” The author illustrates what faith is using stories associated with some of the greatest names in Hebrew history. The way to God is never based on our works for God! The way to Him is always by putting our faith in Christ’s work for us. What faith is not: • Faith is not a feeling. It’s more than an emotion. • Faith is not empty religion or superstition. • Faith is more than merely wishful thinking. What faith is: • Faith is simply trusting in divine facts. • Faith is a decision. • Faith is based on tangible evidence. Real faith in God produces a life that is faithful to God. True belief is always reflected in a life of obedience. The real substance of our faith is shown in our lives, not merely in our lips!
