Honor the Declaration of Independence: How We Throw Away Our Rights and How to Take Them Back!

Informações:

Sinopse

The Declaration of Independence says that we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all persons are created equal and are endowed with certain inalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our rights may be inalienable, but we can still lose them. If you kill someone, you lose your liberty and maybe your life. If your pursuit of happiness includes molesting a child, you lose that right. But not only do we lose our rights, we throw them away. We don’t speak out of fear, we can’t think because of our slavish assumption of social attitudes, we aren’t free because of our addictions and egos. On this edition of InsideOut, we’re going to talk about our inalienable rights, how we keep them and how we lose them. If you want to exercise your freedom of speech, call in live! If you can’t, join our post-show forum (see link on the right of page). Let’s not squander our rights. Let’s confront how we lose them, and let’s celebrate this July 4th by taking them back.
