Many of us say we want intimacy, but do we? Intimacy is being totally honest and transparent about ourselves – our feelings, thoughts and agendas – and having our partner be the same. And that includes our feelings toward each other. Do we want that much truth? Do our partners? If we don’t really want intimacy, what are we seeking from relationships? Do we want someone to know us, or are we really trying to get someone to think we’re fabulous so they’ll never leave us?
