Inner Revolutionary Radio

This week, InsideOut is taking on yet another spiritual platitude that can make us crazy. The platitude is God never gives us more than we can handle. If that were true, we wouldn’t have so many suicides and broken people strewing the planet, hurting themselves and others. So let’s take this one on. What does it mean? Does “God” actually give us our experiences? Is there any truth to the statement? When is it a helpful way of thinking? When is it damaging? What actually does break us and what makes us grow? Let’s distinguish between the truth and the delusion. Let’s try to make everything into a growth experience, and yet let’s have compassion for ourselves and others when we break.
