Why do so many think national health insurance is a crazy, radical idea? Today, over 2500 physicians are calling for single-payer health care reform. They say: Despite the Affordable Care Act, there are still 30 million Americans with NO health insurance, and 39 million more whose insurance is not affordable. Every other developed nation has some form of national health insurance, yet US health spending is far higher than theirs. Single payer national health reform would save nearly $500 billion annually on paperwork and administration, enough to cover all of the uninsured and eliminate deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays for everyone.
