Excited to have art by a new artist here on Morning Prayer. I met Rianna Turner at my son’s school and I first saw her do a live painting at an event! It’s the first Tuesday of Advent in the Church Calendar. December 5, 2023 Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. We’ll sing “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” by Charles Wesley and Rowland Prichard with a prayer of confession. We’ll read Psalms 5 and 6 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Scripture lesson is 2 Peter 1:12-21. We’ll say the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Collect of the Day followed by a time of spontaneous, prompted prayer.
