The Entity-Relationship Model (ER model) is the most widely taught and used approach to data modeling. Peter Chen developed the modeling language in the 1970s. In this episode, I talk with him at the 36th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling in Valencia, Spain, about the time when he developed the ER model.
