Imposing traditions: People may impose human traditions onto their understanding of the Bible without checking the text. Reading into parables: People may read into parables what isn't there. Ignoring other Bible teachings: People may ignore what the Bible teaches on other topics related to a verse. Giving new meaning to words: People may give new meanings to words and ideas that aren't consistent with the Bible.
