This week's show is an extensive interview with junior high school music teacher and free lance sax player, Dan Moffett.

While lengthy interviews are no longer the central structure, I still want to support fellow musicians. This way I can cover more musicians per show! We're BAAACCCKKK! The show has been on hold due to a perfect storm of technology problems in a tiny home studio and some other logistical issues. However, we are back with a terrific interview with trumpeter band leader, Rich Wetzel from Tacoma, Washington. If you like big bands with a very different point of view and you like your trumpet playing hot, this is a fun show. Also featured are Walt Johnson, Serafin Aguilar, Lynn Nicholson and Arturo Sandoval!

This is an interview with the founders of the unique band, Brass Differential, based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This is a serious New Orleans style 2nd line band founded by Kelly Galarneau (sousaphone) and William "Bill" Hill (trombone). This groups has evolved into one fo the busiest groups in north central Wisconsin and their story is really wonderful.

This is a wonderful interview with Chicago area trumpeter, Chris Davis. Chris also hosts a podcast called Behind The Note. You should also check it out.

My interview with trumpeter/vocalist, Jeff Hedberg was truly amazing. Our wide ranging discussion is made even more compelling due to Jeff's master story telling skills. I think listeners will find his story compelling and inspiring. I've featured two tracks for his recordings and included the names of all the sidemen.

Elena is very active as an administrator and educator with the Chicago Metamorphosis Orchestra Project and as a performer with Jetoj music. She is also a very busy free lance performer in both the classical and jazz idioms.

This episode of Duets From The Trenches, Musicians You Should Know is an interview with Drew Hansen, trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator. This is a linger interview because I felt it important to do minimal editing of our wide ranging conversation and wanted to include a full track from his remarkable CD. We had some technical problems with the interview itself, but I salvaged it as best I could. I think this will prove to be an inspirational listen!
