In Psalm 111 & 112, the Church is described as the ‘Council of the Upright,’ and that we (the offspring) shall be mighty upon the earth. The generation of the upright shall be blessed as light arises in the darkness for the upright.  In these times of shaking and heaving, God is reforming and shifting the power and the responsibility of the Kingdom over to the Upright. However, we must not be found complacent! Psalm 82 paints a picture of God who has arrived amongst the Church as the world shakes and trembles -  only to find the Church stuck in the darkness of complacent satisfaction.   There is a Fire that both consumes darkness and promotes the righteous to power. Two powerful demonstrations in the Bible depict God appearing as a Fire that does not destroy. That Fire advanced and shifted the power to the righteous and effectively changed the course of history forever.  It is time for the Church to step out of complacency into this Fire and be passionately powerful.

Obedience is the most evident fruit in a believer's life. In this second message of our "Believer" series; we take a look at what it means to be quietly confident. Have you ever felt the pressing need to have an answer or make a declaration for every situation? Sometimes it's better to let our words be few when we don't fully understand. When Jacob had to leave Canaan under challenging circumstances, God took him back to Bethel where God had first given him his lifetime prophetic promise. (Gen 35) In the same way, God is reminding us of our lifetime promises. Obeying these promises keep us energised and encouraged regardless of the present trials we might face.

How do I believe? We answer this question by giving a description of what a believer looks like in real life. Believers have a personal relationship with the Word, and they can testify that the Word has stimulated, encouraged, and charged them. Believers can see and hear what others can not. They are always encouraged, never afraid nor anxious. They are wise and full of knowledge. 

Our Mother’s day message is a cry for freedom in the home, manifested in two ways.  Lady Wisdom demonstrates the first; she stands on the busy street corner calling our Mother’s to take the time out of the hum and drum, steering your families away from panic and whirlwinds of busyness into the peace that only the Holy Spirit can give. (Proverbs 1:20) The second is a cry to our fathers not to abandon our mothers and cover them in words and actions of violence. (Malachi 2:15) Marriage is the pillar that God has established for the protection and growth of a righteous offspring.  The Spirit of God is moving across our nation to bring peace and hope to our mothers and their families to ensure that our families are blessed in this generation and beyond!

It is impossible to describe the beauty of the Lord, but when our spiritual eyes and ears are focused on the Lord’s magnificent Glory it is impossible not to be satisfied and filled with incredible joy! Many have fallen because of their inability to see, hear and feel the love of God, but God wants to awaken your desire to stay in is House. God’s love is not just a feeling, it is a power that gives life and hope to every person and our only desire should be to dwell in the house of the Lord 

As believers and South Africans it so important to remember that we are citizens of the State which is in Heaven. (Phil 3:20-21) Which means we think and behave differently to those who do not believe. We should not be affected, shaped and identified by what we see going on around us, but we should be ones who are developing and forming our environment by that which flows out of us. Anyone who lives a Kingdom lifestyle will be identified by the way they rejoice, love and pray with thanksgiving.

What most people don’t fully understand is that Jesus’ mission on earth was to usher in a complete overhaul and redesign of our faith and ultimately our lives. When He rose from the grave, He stood up and handed us a complete victory that to this day empowers us to win battles to live in triumph consistently. Six hundred years before Jesus came to earth, Daniel had a vision of the risen Christ. Jesus, clothed in the most beautiful linen and gold, His face like lightning, His eyes like flaming torches, his arms and feet, like glowing bronze and His voice like the sound of a multitude of people so large it sounded like the roar of the ocean.  What Daniel saw was a complete picture of the Body of Christ in full victory. The sound of His voice was the victory shout of every nation, church, tribe, race, and generation shouting out a great Hallelujah; it’s roar -  in praise and honor -  demonstrating the Glory of God.

There is no greater delight to God than our obedience. So often we try and find our way without stopping and listening to the still small voice of God. Today we are bombarded by information that comes from social media and friends and family, but how often do we actually stop and wait for the voice of God to become clear? When not distracted and fully responsive to the voice of God, our obedience grows in increasing measure and so does our favour with both God and man as we prophetically embrace God’s calling on our lives - enabling us to reap a harvest that is superior in every way to the that which is reaped without following the voice of the Holy Spirit. 

Austin and his team from the Bethel school of supernatural ministries visited us this Sunday. Austin talks about the great love the Lord has for you. The greatest moment of the David and Goliath story is when David determined in his heart that no one will defy the armies of the living God. At that moment David proclaimed that Goliath WILL be destroyed just like the lion and the bear. There were no ifs and buts but a determined decision to defend and uphold the Kingdom of God.  Every now and then you have to beat your plowshares into swords and weapons of war. We are waging a spiritual war against principalities that need to be beaten back out of their areas of influence. The Precious Power of God was poured out through the blood of Jesus so that every person for the rest of all time, can live in absolute freedom and hope. His blood has the power to affirm our faith, march ahead of us in conquest, restore our identity, release our hearts and minds and heal our bodies, inspire us creatively, engage us in our purpose and comfort our broken hearts. The Power of God is the story of Jesus Christ, and the definition of Power is the influence the Holy Spirit on our lives.

Two confessions will conquer the power of sin in a person's life. The first confession is that Jesus died for our sins and rose again to offer us a new life, and the second confession is that we have indeed sinned. The latter relies on the power of the first confession, yet for many Christians, it remains hard to do. Because of His resurrection, we are encouraged to come out into the light so that our works may be plainly shown what they are - inspired by God. In this light, there is no condemnation, but many people still choose however to shrink away from the light in the hopes that their deeds will not be exposed. The problem is that we hide our acts, we hide them from the cross, and we experience the consequences of our sins. These consequences manifest in the form of shame, confusion, hopelessness, unfaithfulness, mistrust, stress, fatigue and even death. If you are into the sport of running, you will know that the best way to be successful and enjoy the sport is to build on many small successes, until one day you are able to achieve what had previously been impossible to you. Our character is built in the very same way, we have to learn how to overcome challenges to develop our patience and character until we are able to live a life of maturity in Christ. Maturity is the ability to handle any event or experience without letting those experiences deform our character and nature. Find out how to develop your faith and build your character so that you can have major breakthroughs by staying on the course, consistently having victories along the way. 

Two years after leaving Egypt, Joshua and Caleb joined ten others on a journey of discovery into the promised land. Their mission was find evidence of a fertile country flowing with milk and honey and report back to camp with the good news that destiny was around the corner. On return however, they were powerless in their efforts to influence a nation not to buy into a bad report and watched in horror as tribe after tribe turned back towards 40 years of fear in the wilderness, choosing slavery over freedom and death before life. Today God is inviting us to escape the fear of failure and disappointment to go on a journey of our own to explore and discover the breadth and width of His love in the land He has promised us. 

The only way we can fully comprehend the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is when we stand up out of the ditches and the trenches of fear and respond to the call of God that says, “Arise, Shine! For your light has come, and the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you! God protects us and covers us in songs of praise and shouts of deliverance. We don’t just gather under the shadow of his wings like scared little chickens, but we gather in a safe place where we can enjoy and celebrate God’s presence, so that our vision and faith can be shaped by a revelation of God’s goodness. He’s throwing a party for us! It’s time to lift our heads and reclaim the dreams that have been lost and forgotten because they seemed to idealistic or difficult. We have a determine purpose to look forward and not backwards, to press on so that we can know and experience the fullness of Heaven here on earth.

The foundation is set & the building is in process & you, a believer, are participating in this building. What is being built? If the construction site could have a board up, it would read:  Construction of The Body of Christ, the Home of the Holy Spirit.  This is not a ‘hit & run’ scenario but a building that continues, a building that will stop only when it reaches the height, the completeness & the fullness of Christ Himself. This done, it will be the most wonderful of all temples ever built. David desired to build a temple. Solomon built the temple. Building takes place when there is peace & David purpose was to conquer & thus enforce peace. Solomon inherited peace but did he value the victory that David had handed him? 

Like showers of rain in the wilderness, God pours out His Spirit of Wisdom on us. For generations people have been afraid of the true and awesome power of God. He is awakening us, reviving our purpose, and restoring our heritage - saying,  “Do not be afraid. Don’t run away. Don’t close your ears -  my voice is about to shake the earth!”
