Can I Thwipp It?

The Thwipp It Boys make their triumphant return!!!  It's been a few months but Manus and Eli return to cover the End of Games, Live in person at what used to be up state New York and Avengers mansion.  This episode the boys recap all their adventures during the break and then go deep into new books, natch'! Welcome to the lost, yet also KING-SIZE Can I Thwipp It? Annual. This is the lost bridge from season 1 to season 2.  Somewhere between Seasons 1 and 2 Eli and Manus met to catch each other up on what comics they were missing and also checked out an amazing concert.  This was no normal concert though.  It was deep in space, in a galaxy far, far away.  There is a special song that the boys could not stop singing all episode and night.  Topics at the check in (also chapters)  1. What an ep! The penultimate episode of chapter 1 of Can I Thwipp it.  Ride with us on our day of fun leading up to "Into The Spider-Verse." This week we took the mic out and about and had an amazing day in LA.  First we went to the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie premier at the Chinese Theatre where there was an exclusive Dragon Ball Tour stop and Tamashii Nation booth. Then we went to the Venom Block Party & DVD/Blu Ray release party. We met Todd McFarlane there. He patted me on the back, it was cool. Then we went and saw "Into the Spider-Verse"!! This week we tackle the Dark Knight as only Can I Thwipp it can.  First, we go deep into the Bat's silver screen appearances from the 1940's serial to BatFleck. Next, we discuss the one creator we feel had the most profound impact on the caped crusader, Frank Miller.  Then, with the help of the DC Universe app we selected a random Batman issue (by choosing a random number out of the 700 or so issues in the Batman ongoing title).  Our random issue is #413 "The Ghost of Masahiko Tahara" and it turned out to be a pretty great issue complete with a cool villain and a museum exhibition gone wrong.   In the ish, Batman uses a mug that reads "#1 Super Hero," hahaah. Finally, we couldn't help but check in on Spidy-Corner and see what's up in the Spider-Verse and with those new Spidy Jordan 1's!!  So light up your Bat-Signal, fire up the Bat-Bong, get the Bat-Shark repellant and everybahhhdy....CHIIIIIILLL! 

This week we examine the history of Spider-Man in live action! From the first fan film in 1969 to Infinity War, Thwipp with us again!  Spider-Man was the first Marvel property to be brought to Hollywood by Stan Lee and the ole' web head had a bit of a rough start. Stan didn't like the 1977 made for TV movies much.  He said that Peter didn't seem like Peter.  We agree.  From there we explore the Japanese "Supaidāman" (1978-79) and then we go from TV into film.  Did you know in the late 80's Tom Cruise was set to be Peter and Bob (Mario) Hoskins was going to be Doc Ock?  That woulda been crazy. This week we give credit where credit is due.  This week we honor Stan "The Man" Lee.  Stan and his Amazing Friends!  This ep we really get into some history.  We took notes, this is the real history of Stan and you can't get into that history without talking about Jack and Steve.  We really got deep into the relationship between Stan and Steve Ditko and the belief structure of Ditko's Objectivism. We also reflect on Lee by decade and talk cameos and what Stan's legacy is in the world of comics.  Then we look into the Captain Marvel prelude.  This ep' we feature Manus' song Betty (feat. 56xansaintcool) Much love to Stan and his family and his memory. He was the face and voice of marvel but he was not the look. This week is ALL SPIDY!! WE going deep into the Clone Conspiracy!
