God’s disposition toward believers is one of secure love, not shame. When faith feels weak, we can participate in rekindling it through spiritual practices and supportive community that remind us of our true identity in Christ; people empowered by love rather than fear.

Drawing from Paul’s opening words in 2 Timothy, we see a man at the end of his life, passing the baton of faith to Timothy, his beloved spiritual son. Paul’s gratitude is not rooted in Timothy’s achievements, but in their relationship and shared journey. He thanks God for the privilege of serving, for the legacy of faith handed down by his ancestors, and for the opportunity to pour into Timothy, who will in turn pour into others. Paul’s perspective orients us away from self-importance and toward humble gratitude. We are not the main characters in God’s story, but we are invited to play a meaningful part. Our faithfulness is not about striving to be significant, but about recognizing the cloud of witnesses who have gone before us and the generations who will follow. We are called to serve with a clear conscience, not out of obligation or anxiety, but out of joy and thankfulness for the grace that allows us to participate. The cost of mission is real, but so is the reward: seeing the ripple effects of our faith

What is worship, and why do we do it corporately? In this sermon, we look throughout the Scriptures to see what we find about living a whole life of worship, and how that unfolds when we gather as a unified church body.

As Paul opens his second letter to Timothy, he writes not just as an apostle, but as a spiritual father to his beloved child in the faith. In what may seem like a typical greeting, Paul reveals the foundation for Christian endurance: the promise of life in Christ Jesus. This hope is not abstract—it’s what sustained Paul through suffering, and it’s what he urges Timothy to cling to as well. Endurance is possible, not through strength of will, but through the unshakable promise of life found in Christ.

God uses the weak, not the strong, to carry the power of His name. Like Timothy, we lead not in confidence of self, but in the Spirit of power, love, and self-control. We embrace our limitations, not as liabilities, but as invitations for grace to abound. This is the way of the Kingdom—strength in surrender, glory in weakness, and faithfulness forged through fire.

As we close out the book of Hebrews, we’re reminded that the path to peace isn’t always easy—it’s often marked by challenge, sacrifice, and perseverance. But even in the midst of difficulty, we move forward with confidence, knowing we are not alone. We have a Great Shepherd—Jesus—who has gone before us, conquered death, and is leading us into the fullness of life in His Kingdom. Our hope is secure, not because the road is smooth, but because the One who walks with us is faithful.

As followers of Jesus, we go after Him, not making a means of our own righteousness. Going after Him means going outside the camp to bring light where there is darkness, freedom where there is bondage, and life where there is death. This is our sacrifice of praise as we make much of Jesus in word and works.

The path of faith involves trusting godly leaders who demonstrate Christ’s character, while ultimately keeping our deepest trust in God, who can redeem and work through any situation. Followers are called to imitate the faith of leaders who love God’s Word, display spiritual fruit, and genuinely care for people’s souls, submitting to their guidance while recognizing that God is the ultimate source of guidance and redemption.

Living by faith involves trusting in Jesus as the ultimate object of our hope, rather than in money or material possessions, which can lead us into ruin if loved excessively. This kind of faith leads us in contentment and stewardship, knowing that all things belong to God.

In this special sequence of three messages from three voices from within our Mosaic community, listen as they share stories of how God is moving through lives marked by hospitality, generosity, and mission. Through Megan’s journey of healing, Conner’s story of adoption and stewardship, and Mariana’s call to bold witness, we’re reminded that every step of faith can lead to One More Life transformed by Jesus.

Living by faith impacts our everyday relationships, from entertaining strangers, to remembering those in prison, to honoring marriage and keeping the marriage bed undefiled. Our culture’s obsession with status, sex, and money can derail our faith journey, so we’re called to both pursue positive expressions of faith and courageously confront the sins that entangle us as acts of worship to God.

As the people of God, we have been called to pour out the love of God onto others. We do this by loving our brothers and sisters in Christ, showing hospitality to all people—even strangers! And by remembering the neglected and forgotten in our midst. And as we do this, the love of God will be multiplied in our community as the gospel of Jesus transforms our world.

The journey through Hebrews has shown us that faith is not always easy. Sometimes, it leads to miraculous victories and blessings; other times, it brings hardship, loss, and sacrifice. Yet, the call remains the same: to endure, to persevere, and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. The cost of following Jesus may seem high in the moment, but the gain is infinitely greater. The alternative—rejecting Him—means missing out on the eternal, unshakable kingdom He offers. The imagery of Mount Sinai reminds us of the holiness and justice of God, a consuming fire before whom sin cannot stand. But in Christ, we are no longer those who must shrink back in fear. Instead, we are welcomed into God’s presence, judged righteous because of Jesus’ sacrifice. The shaking of Sinai was only the beginning; a greater shaking is coming, when God will remove all that is temporary, sinful, and broken, leaving only what is eternal and unshakable. Because of Jesus, we are part of that unshakable kingdom. This

Followers of Jesus are not of those who have to stand far off from God in fear and insecurity, attempting to make ourselves right with God through the law. But rather, we have come to Mt. Zion, the kingdom and presence of God, with full assurance and freedom through the finished work of Jesus alone.

As followers of Christ, God has already redeemed and secured us. So we should strive for peace with everyone and pursue holiness rather than allowing any division of bitterness to take root or trading the enjoyment of our spiritual inheritance for momentary gratification.

What we see in Hebrews 12:3-11 is a beautiful picture of a loving Savior drawing near to us in our suffering and a good Father giving us meaning and purpose as he uses that suffering to affirm our status as sons and daughters and shape us more and more into the magnificent character of Jesus.

As a people of faith, we are surrounded by a great crowd of faith-examples that have gone before us. In light of this, we consider and throw off the weights and sins that hinder us from living on mission today. And as we do this, we set our gaze on Jesus—the object of, the starter of, and the finisher of our faith! To Him be the glory forever and ever!

This Easter we not only celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead, but also that we have the miraculous opportunity as those who trust in Him to be brought from spiritual death to eternal life. Jesus did this for us by absorbing the destructive virus of sin, bearing its full consequences in our place so that our death would become His and His life would become ours in resurrection power!

This Good Friday, we remember and respond to the truth that Jesus’ death is our life. Jesus willingly took the punishment of sin upon Himself, offering forgiveness and eternal life, with the ultimate goal of reconciling those who trust in Him to God.

Jesus has made us alive through His gospel, calling us not only to believe but to live by faith. As a church, we stand at a pivotal moment—united, committed, and sent to reflect His glory. Rooted in the truth of the gospel, we boldly step forward as medics in a broken world, living out our faith through extravagant hospitality, fearless generosity, and daring mission!
