Jesus Cafe: Food For Thought

This week, our co-hosts, joined by special guest Allie K, talked about a bear that impeded their path to Mass the previous week. Cathy also recapped her past week, including Allie's Baccalaureate and Graduation. They also discussed sacrifices stemming from a sacrifice MaryCate, one of Cathy's daughters, made. In addition they discussed being powerless, as well as being connected. They listened to "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw, and discussed how we should be living our lives as if we were dying. They also discussed the day's reading and also a recent dream and reflection of Cathy's.

In this episode, our co-hosts talk about wakes, making reference to the Mary Tyler Moore Show. They also discussed the new bacon sandwich at Dunkin Donuts. Cathy also told a story of some recent technology problems, and of who really likes Don, while Tyler connected it all back to the faith. They also listened to "Cat's In The Cradle" by Harry Chapin and talked about balance.

In this week's show, our co-hosts talk about the recent ordination that Cathy attended, where Father Matthew K, and Father Joseph G, who have appeared on the show, were ordained as priests. They also discussed the two new priests, including their first Masses. They also talked about some recent messages delivered by Pope Francis, what we can learn from them, and how to implement them in our daily lives. They also listened to "Who Are You" by The Who, and discussed who we are, and how God will show us if we are on the path He wants us on or not.

Our cohosts, joined by special guest Deacon (soon to be Father) Joseph talk about the sacraments of Anointing Of The Sick and Reconciliation, and give Deacon Joseph some practice at hearing confessions by bringing back out the game Bag O Sins. They also listened to "Come Together" by the Beatles and discussed how Christians should come together, in good times and times of tragedy. They also discussed the Oklahoma tragedy and Zach Sobiech. Our Co-hosts, with one off the walls, discussed Apologetics, what are apologetics? They also played a segment from a pre-recorded show with Juliana C, with the song "Untitled" by Simple Plan, and in the recorded segment talked about distracted, drunk, drowsy driving, especially with prom season coming up. Speaking of proms, along with getting houses in order for guests, shouldn't we be getting our souls together for Christ? They also discussed Mother's Day, as well as why Catholics consider Mary their spiritual mother, as well as why they pray to her. They also speak about why Jesus asked Peter three times if he (Peter) loved Him (Jesus).

This week our co-hosts were joined in studio by special guest Deacon Matt! Tyler tells a story of how he got lost recently and used a Church to find the way, and how we as Christians will get lost quite a bit, and that we need to trust in God to bring us back on the path we should be on. Cathy also discussed the wedding she attended over the weekend. Deacon Matt discussed Permanent Deacons, Transitional Deacons, and Priests, and the differences between them. The trio also analyzed "The Great Divide" by Scott Stapp, and discussed the Incorruptibles.

In this episode they continue to talk about Acts of Random Kindness, including playing a song by South Sixty-Five, called "A Random Act Of Senseless Kindness". Cathy also gave marriage advice and discussed the way the devil tempts us using good things too. They also talked about two Deacon friends of theirs who will be ordained as priests. They also talked about love, and reference the Beatles song, "All You Need Is Love". Finally, they talked about the "I AM" passage.

In this episode, our co-hosts talk about how the devil tries to stop you from growing closer to God, along with the difficulties of being a Christian, using stories to help show it. They also teased future stories. They explained the significance of their intro song, Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" and their outro song, Peter Townshend's "Let My Love Open The Door". They also had a special guest appearance by Cathy's son, David, telling the story of the Prodigal Son, coupled with a song by Christian Parody band, ApologetiX. They also talked about Pope Francis.

In our second episode, we discuss the tragedy that took place at the Boston Marathon, tell more stories, and play a game called Bag O' Sins. We also had an intro for one time use that used the song "Let There Be Peace On Earth". Cathy also issued a challenge to everyone: Try to do at least one Act of Random Kindness (ARK) a day.

In the debut episode of Jesus Cafe: Food For Thought, the hosts introduce themselves, who they are, where they come from, and what they want to be able to do with this show. In addition, they do a little Bible Trivia, which creates some moments of overall weirdness. They also tell stories and analyze "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones.
