Sinopse
Ana, a poor Black woman marginalized by 19th-century society, decides to accompany her soldier husband to the Paraguayan War. She follows Caxias s army on foot, departing from Uberaba, Minas Gerais, to the lagoon. She fights bravely. When her husband dies in combat, she carries his body in her arms for burial in Brazil. A forgotten heroine in official history.
