The Scourge of Do It Yourself Salvation | Luke 18:9-17

Informações:

Sinopse

The parable of the Pharisee and tax collector reveals the danger of trusting in our own righteousness rather than God's grace. The Pharisee, despite his impressive religious achievements, was condemned for his self-righteous pride and condescending attitude toward others. Meanwhile, the despised tax collector found justification through humble repentance and dependence on God's mercy. Jesus teaches that we must receive God's kingdom like children - with simple trust, complete dependence, and grateful hearts. Our good works cannot earn salvation; they are the fruit of God's grace working in our lives.
