As war tensions grow in the United States, three days before the attack on Pearl Harbor, newspapers run with the story that the Roosevelt administration plans a massive military buildup of more than 10 million troops.  Although some attention will be played toward Asia, the main focus will be the European theater, where the U.S. hopes to lead an Allied invasion by July 1, 1943.
