Jonah’s hatred and prejudice led him away from understanding God’s mercy and grace for his own life.We need to know that prejudice and hatred lead only to self-pity; a life of being self-centered, while love and pity for others lead to a commitment to help and save; a God-centered life.   In the Bible we have seen how God has intervened in judgment in human history. This was the case of Babel, Sodom, Jericho, Babylon, Nineveh, and Jerusalem.  And not until God destroys sin in the city can the New Jerusalem be ushered in. By faith we know that God is at work in our history using every man, in ways we cannot see with total clarity, but God alone builds His city.
