Israel and Jennifer McGhee talk with Taurian Deveaux of Taurian Deveaux's Agronomy and Music Ministry about vital information that will propel the African American community into a self sufficient food future. We discuss the future of Black Farming and the need to shift from traditional models of agriculture to models which are in line with our natural permaculture tradition, why it's essential we are involved in the production of our food and how we can make an economically viable future from this. Taurian Deveaux is the director of Taurian Deveaux's Agronomy and Music Ministry, a non profit focused on community outreach, agriculture, music and literacy programs. She is 31 years old and has lived in 5 countries where she learned a variety of farming principals that can be implemented in underserved African American communities. She is the mother of 1 and resides in Kern County, California.
